With reference to j^our letter ^o^^.Z.62^/34 of the
1st February on +he BmhJ ect of the "oolicy to be pursued in
regard + o + he Hhaikhdom of O^atar, I am directed by Secretary
Sir John Simon to s^ete that, subject to the views of the
other departments concerned, and in particular to the opinion
awaited from the Air Council as to the possibility of
adequately fulfilling an undertaking to afford full protec
tion against aggression by land, be concurs generally in the
instructions "which Secretary 31 r Samuel .^oare proposes to
send to the Politi cal Resident in the Persian Chil J ; «
2. I a j n# however, to offer the following observations on
subsidiary points.
