Letter regarding Lewis Pelly's meeting with the Sultan of Muskat [Muscat] (Thuwaini bin Said) at Burkah [Barka] and the Sultan's request for assistance in terms of money, guns and muntions in order to defend his inland frontiers from the Wahabees [Wahhabi] and to take the Wahabee stronghold of Beraymee.

The letter goes on to discuss the Sultan's brother Sayed Torkee [Turki bin Said] proceeding to Bahrein [Bahrain] with ships to blockade the Wahabee ports of Katif [Al-Qatif] and Ajair [Uqair], assurances of assistance from Bahrein and Pelly's travels to Bahrein and his communications with the Chiefs of the pirate coast.

Further details include information on the finances and resources available to the Sultan, and more general remarks on the the Muskat-Wahabee quarrel based on Pelly's time in Muskat and his prior efforts in securing friendly relations through his visit to the Wahabee capital as well as background on the Wahabee empire, its conquests, and its subsequent shrinking both from maritime and inland attacks.

Also enclosed within the letter are statements on the localities and numbers of tribes in Amman [Oman] and of the annual revenue of the tribute of Muskat.
