Letter regarding appointments in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. and Pelly's own appointment in Rajpootana [Rājasthān] as well as the lack of official news in regards to them.

The letter also discusses Pelly's play and the cost of illuminating it being too high and requesting that any illuminations along with the all the scenes be returned to him.

The letter concludes by discussing William Hayward and Khyzat Ali and their positions in the Gulf.
