Letter regarding eighty rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. belonging to Pelly which he had instructed should be left in the pay and which Baring is enquiring about as there are no outstanding monies to be paid.

The letter goes on to give news of the appointment which William Merewether has offered him, the recent fearful weather, including a dust storm, and recent bouts of illness which have affected both Mr Campbell and Mr Cook.
