Letter, dated 30 June 1873, regarding a statement which had appeared in a local newspaper that European and Native officers in the Rajputana [Rājasthān] Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. were in the habit of using local Chief's vehicles and that although the statement had proved unfounded requesting that Pelly reiterate to his Political Agents the circumstances under which this was, and was not, permitted.
The reverse of the letter contains a note from Pelly, dated 25 July 1873, requesting that copies of the letter be sent to all the Political Agents.
