Eunuch alfo was no lefs fedulous to joyn with him in com,
fortius the Young Prince, fo that by degrees the violence of
his mourning began to abate. The luftre of a Diadem
reprefented it felf before his Eyes with all its gW > lo
he fuffered himfelf to be overcome with the Charms of
Grandeur, and the fplendour of an exalted Fortune that
glittered in his fight, accoiding to the Expreffion in the Perftan
Orieinal.
Thereupon the two Lords looking {tedfaftiy one upon ano
ther, as it were making figns to each other as to what they had
already concluded among themidves; and well knowing thtn.
as yet the Young Prince underftood not how to ad the King,
they asked him, as it were by way of an indirect and glancing
Inftru£lion what he had to do, whether it were his Majefties
pleafure that they fhould attend him forthwith to the Palace
Royal, to receive his Diadem, in regard it was of great im
portance that he fhould make no longer delay. To which the
Prince condefcended, and ordered them to do whatever in their
judgment they deemed moft proper and convenient. Upon
which the General of the Mulquetteers, attended by the
Eunuch, with a great Train ot other Perfons, conduced the
Prince to the Apartment where the Kings were accuftomed to
give Publick Audience, which they call Tavwleh,
where the Deputies of the Principal Officers of State^ the
GrandJjlrologer, and the reft that came from the Court
were admitted to make their three ufual Proteftations in his
Prefence, the Deputies in the Name of their Mafters, the reft
for themfelves. After that, his Majefty went into a Bath
which was near the Apartment, there to purifie himfelf,
as the Law ordains, and to array himfeU in new Habits,
while all things were preparing for the Coronation with all

In the mean time the Chief of the Aftrologers, witn his
Companion that came along with him from the Court, k -
tiring to their proper Station, let themfelves to oblerye the
Lucky Hour according to the Pofition of the Stars for the
performance of this weighty Ceremony. Thus all things were
got ready in leis than an hour and a half, through the
great diligence as well of the General of the Mufquetteers,
as of the NazjrEunuch, who from the very moment that
they arrived at the Ladies Palace, and during the time that
the Kins ftaid in the Bath, had privately fent wita all
