Content: In this letter, received 9 April 1834, Charles Norris, Chief Secretary to the Government, Bombay, writes to David Anderson Blane, Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , Bushire, acknowledging receipt of his letter, dated 7 October 1833, on the subject of the contest between the Sheik of Bahrain [Shaikh Khalīfah ibn Sulman Āl Khalīfah] and the Wahabee [Wahabi] chief. Norris states that the Governor in Council approves of Blane's proceedings as outlined in that letter.
