(5) King Bin Sa'ud and the Amir of Hasa have no influence
at ^hafrah except on the tribes of the Manasir while
the -^ani ?as claim to be the subjects of Abu Lhabi.
(6) As regards the payment of the zakah between the death
ofl Zaid bin &halifah and the present time. After the
death of ^aid and during the ^haikhship of Hamdan bin gaid
over Abu i^habi a war took place between the Manasir KkaxiixsxaLt
Iteixxk and the Bani Yas who live at ^hafrah,on the one side
and between the bedouins on the southern side namely the t Awamir^.
DarU f , which continued for a long period. The Shaikhs of the
Manasir and the sub-section of the Mazari 1 left Dhafrah and went
of camels
to Hasa where they took presents/to the Amir of fiasa, *Abdullah
bin Jalawi and asked for his protection and kept their camels
to graze in Sasa desert. 'Abdullah bin Jalawi accepted the
presents from them in return for which he gave them money and
agreed to have them under the protection of tiin ^a T ud. The
Manasir, including the sub-section of the Mazari remained thelC/
with their camels. The rest of the tribesmen uf Bani ias,
Hawamil, ^ubaisat, Mahrbah and Marar kept their camels at the
southern
^water springs din the Buraimi side and then went and settled

at Abu Bhabi and/the Islands belonging to it. After the tribes
men"were scattered away from DnTrah, Shaikh ^amdan bin Said went
to Buraimi and arranged peace between the fighting parties.
After peace and orcer were rltored between them the Bani las
tribesfinn returned slowly to^Dhafrah where they repaired their
houses and tilled their gardens. The Mazari T sub-section
who went to /^asa also returned with their camels and left nothing
of their belongings at Hasa, while the Manasir tribesmen, some of
them returned to Dhafrah with their catties and the others
spend the winter in flasa and the summer at Dhafrah. Some of them
are still at Hasa with their camels while they come and go
betwean Hasa and Dhafrah. In the year 1340 S&akkk Sultan bin
Zaid killed his brother Shaikh flaradan bin 2aid ana became the
Shaikh of Abu -^habi. King Bin Sa f ud and the ^mir of nasa, TAbdulJa

bin Jalawi beeam^'jenemies with Shaikh gultan bin ^aid for killing
his brother Hamdan bin ^aid who was their frircnd and ally.
