The letter is informing the Resident that the Governor of Bombay approves of his decision to present several gifts to the Shaikhs of Khatiffe [Al-Qaṭīf], along with his decision to dispatch a broker Often a local commercial agent in the Gulf who regularly performed duties of intelligence gathering and political representation. to that place to assist Captain Sadleir, but notes the appointment should only be temporary.
