Letter regarding requirements that Pelly may have for personal use of the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Premises at Ajmere, and discussing the possible uses the Mayo College may have for it as a temporary college if the Boarding Houses are not finished in time, whilst noting that should the Boarding Houses not be completed until after the hot season then the recipients tenure should be secure until then.

The recipient of the letter may be Judge Charles Collett, High Court of Judicature, Madras.

Folio 69 contains a note from Lewis Pelly requesting a copy be made of the letter before being returned to him.
