The letter is noting that the Resident has dispatched the HCC Nautilus to deliver important intelligence and copies of correspondence to Fort William, Calcutta, even though Jaffer Ali Khan [Ja‘afar ‘Alī Khān] has not yet succeeded in obtaining the packet he has been tasked with intercepting. It further notes that he will use one of Samuel Manesty's cruizers, the HCC Teignmouth , for the task of conveying the expected packet from Jaffer Ali Khan.
