Letter regarding Grant-Duff's travels from Ahmedabad which Pelly informs him will be impassable by road and recommending instead the train from Bombay to Jeypore [Jaipur] from where a carriage and horses could be laid on to Ajmere [Ajmer] and Nusseerabad [Nasīrābād] and further should he wish to visit Aboo [Ābu], Jodhpore [Jodhpur] or other places.

The letter also invites him to join the camp and informs him that Ahmedabad is the wrong direction for Pelly as he has no authority or jurisdiction in that area.

The letter also gives the lengths of time it takes to travel between the various places he proposes to visit.
