Letter in response to Sir Montgomery's requesting Pelly's assistance in securing a position in Rajpootana [Rājasthān] for Captain Arthur Conolly.

Pelly's response is that there are others currently acting as Commandants of Seconds within the province who Government would not pass over for promotion, but that he would do what he could to assist the Captain.
