Letter informing Ross that Pelly has been summoned to Kurrachee [Karachi] to meet with the Viceroy and requesting that Ross co-operate with the Senior Naval Officer in the Gulf during his absence.
The letter goes on to request that if a vessel of war has not arrived in the Gulf by the time that the Lynx , under Commander Keats has been to Gwadur [Gwadar] and back that he will instruct the Commander to proceed to the Arab Coast and cruize the trucial ports from Ras-ul-Khymah [Ra's al Khaimah] to Aboothabee [Abu Dhabi] before proceeding to Bahrain, or if a vessel of war arrives at Muscat its Captain should be instructed to take the same route.
