Letter acknowleding receipt from the Governor General in Council of the Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. 's report on the cruise of the Company's frigate Queen (ff 156-158). Allen states that His Lordship considers the report satisfactory. Enclosed with Malet's letter is letter no.31 from Charles Allen, Officiating Secretary to the Government of India, to Arthur Malet, Chief Secretary to the Government Bombay, dated 6 January 1853, indicating the satisfaction of the Governor General with the report of the cruise of the Gulf by the Company's frigate Queen .
