About this record

Content

The letter is an acknowledgement of Kemball’s earlier letter relating to unrest at Bahrain. Anderson writes that the Government approves of the tenor of Kemball’s letter to Ameer Fysul [Fayṣal ibn Turki], as well as of his instructions to Commodore Robinson. Anderson reminds Kemball of the tougher stance the British Government wants to take against Fayṣal ibn Turki, in light of the latter’s harbouring of the fugitive Humeed bin Mujdell. Anderson also authorises Kemball to communicate to Fayṣal ibn Turki that any other tribal chiefs who provide refuge to Humeed bin Mujdell will be regarded as participating in acts of piracy by the British Government.
