In this letter Ephraim Gerrish Stannus, Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , Bushire, informs Lieutenant Colonel Edward Baker, Commissary General, Bombay, that in compliance with a requisition forwarded by Captain James Thomas Molesworth, he has directed that twenty-four candies of gypsum be shipped on board the East India Company ship, the Discovery, for the use of the Commissariat Department. Stannus encloses a bill for the shipment (not included).
