Letter enclosing a sample described as antiquarian writing in Pallee words, and a testimonial granted to him by Captain J F W Muir, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. Harotee [Hāraoti] and Tonk. The sample appears to contain an image of a sketch map of roads and hillocks.
The letter goes on to express his willingness to undertake any work necessary in making researches of The History of Maywar [Mewār] by Dabee Peishar, and which he had translated from Sanscrit, the letter also offers Pelly the services of his sons who are also employed in antiquarian work in Tonk state.
- Envelope addressed to Charles Umpherston Aitchison, Gorton Castle, from Lewis Pelly. The envelope contains two original one anna stamps and an original wax seal.
- Testimonial of Pandita Ramarna, Sri Raghunathji Temple, Latok, Amirganj about his work in Harotee, written by J F W Muir, Officiating Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. Harotee and Tonk, dated 1 February 1873.
