Letter, dated 2 July 1873 regarding a letter by Pelly's predecessor (Colonel John Cheape Brook) on the levying of Octroi taxes in the Nusseerabad [Nasīrābād] cantonment and detailing the objections to this before requesting Pelly's advice on any ways in which the town can be separated from the cantonment in order to avoid difficulties.

A note below the letter, dated 20 July, records that a copy of the letter had been dispatched to Leslie Saunders.
