- Letter from Major Charles Henry Clay, Second in Command, Deoli Irregular Force, 20 July 1873 regarding Major John Campbell Gunning's appointment over himself to the position of Second in Command, Meywar [Mewār] Corps and his belief that he should have received that appointment and that the Viceroy had sought to vastly improve Major Gunning's position.
