Letter, dated 25 February 1874, submitting his opinion, in accordance with the views of Government, that 500 muskets should be supplied to the Tonk Durbar A public or private audience held by a high-ranking British colonial representative (e.g. Viceroy, Governor-General, or member of the British royal family). and promising the ensure the corresponding number of old arms are destroyed.
The verso The back of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'v'. of folio 191 contains a pencil note from Henry Byam Abbott, dated 4 March 1874, noting that the letter should be filed with the Demi-Official correspondence.
