Letter concerns the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. 's accounts. Farish encloses a letter, dated 14 January 1807, from Francis Warden, Chief Secretary to the Government, Bombay, to Lieutenant William Bruce, Acting Resident at Bushire, on the subject of regulating future payment of the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Guard. The enclosed letter includes a copy of a joint report, dated 10 January 1807, from John Elphinstone [Elphinston], Accountant General, Bombay, and Alexander Hay, Military Auditor General, Bombay, which provides tables of pay and provisions for the Native Infantry, to be transmitted for the information and guidance of the different residents.
