The letter discusses briefly the declining power of the Imam of Muskat [Muscat] in the face of growing Wahabee [ Wahhābī A follower of the Islamic reform movement known as Wahhabism; also used to refer to the people and territories ruled by the Al-Saud family. ] influence in the area. It is implied that the Imam's standing should be protected, but no war should be entered into unless his total downfall is threatened.
