Letter regarding the retrieval of merchandise from Muskat [Muscat] belonging to British Subjects, the possibility of rendering assistance to Hindoos [Hindus] who have merchandise there too and the need for any vessel retrieving these belongings to either be armed or be accompanied by a man 'o' war vessel. The letter goes on to discuss conversations with the Wahabees [Wahhabis] in order to maintain peace along the various frontiers and thoughts on how to provide a maritime police force for the Gulf.
