Letter approving the reply the Bombay Council propose giving to the envoys of Sayed Soulem [Salim II bin Thuwaini] and authorising a native agent Non-British agents affiliated with the British Government. to manage the Muskat [Muscat] residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in the interim.

The letter goes on to authorise merchants trading with Muskat, but that they must judge their own security for themselves; although the British Government would address any mistreatment under the terms of the existing treaty with Muskat.
