Letter regarding Pelly's view of Central Asia and referring him to a letter to Lord Palmerston published in the blue book (the record of official correspondence published for the information of the British Government).

The letter goes on to discuss the movements of the Persian Army in Meshed; the death of the heir to the throne of Cabool [Kabul]; fears that the Persians will advance on Herat; and the difficulties being caused to his job by the withdrawal of troops from Sind and the crucial role of Beloochistan [Baluchistan].
