Content

The letter concerns Sued Humza [referred to elsewhere in the volume as Syeed Hamza] of Johanna [Nzwane], whose bugla Large trading vessel. [ buggalow Large trading vessel. ] had been plundered near Boordekhan in the territory of the Sheikh of Dashtee [Dashti]. Stannus asks Macdonald to make an appeal to His Royal Highness: this, he thinks, would doubtless induce the authorities at Shiraz to take more vigorous measures to ensure the restitution of the property.

The letter is erroneously dated 16 May 1816.
