During the year under review- there was a considerable
increase in the number of vessels calling at Bahrain, as compared
with the previous year. The value of imports was higher than the
previous year chiefly due to increase in local trade between Persia
and Bahrain on account of high barter values.
The figure of exports was higher than that of last year
which can be attributed to more exports of specie by the Oil Company
to Arabia, and exports of Persian and Iraq currency notes to Iraq.
