Letter informing Sir Bartle that he has learned from statements made by his servants that the fire on board Berenice was caused by servants using naked flames in either the sloop deck or holds.
The letter also reports that the Officer commanding May Frere , Mr Arnst has been obstructive and has caused his vessel to be grounded, giveingdetails of the circumstances under which this happened and requesting that his conduct be reported to Government.
