Letter regarding Captain George Atkinson at Muscat who is suffering from ill health and news of Syed Torkee [Turki bin Said]'s failed attack on Muscat.

The letter also discusses Pelly's intentions of travelling to Shiraz and arrangements with regards to Dr Abraham Hojel's pay.

The letter also mentions the need for a medical storekeeper in the region; the release of Persian captives from Bokhara by the Russians and an outbreak of plague at Hillah.
