Letter regarding Britain's failure to to enforce their decisions of the previous yearwhich has led to the need for ships in the Gulf to be sent to East Africa to prevent the slave trade.

The letter goes on to discuss the difficulties in undertaking work and supporting expanding trade in the Gulf without admiralty support and the need for the Vicerory and Government of India to better support it too.

The letter also refers to an enclosed detailed report (No.181) on Bahrein piracy which is no longer enclosed with this letter.
