The letter confirms the residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. 's compliance with a proposed new pass system for boats sailing under the Company's protection in the Gulf. It is reported that Shaik Saddoon [Sheikh Sa‘dūn] has returned from Schirash without successfully lifting the embargo on Bushire, claiming that the Caun [Karim Khan] wishes to settle things with the English first.
