The file discusses a letter received from the General Department, Foreign Office relating to the operation of radio stations in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , including the frequencies that such stations could be operated on and the regulations to be followed in registering frequencies and call signs. Also included is correspondence with political authorities and organisations in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. to compile a central register of all short wave frequencies in use.

Further correspondence relates to a request from Petroleum Concessions Limited (Basil Henry Lermitte) for authorisation to install VHF (very high frequency) sets at their offices in Sitra [Sitrah] and Muharraq.

A series of file notes which were maintained as a record of the correspondence in the volume can be found at folios 29-30.
