Dear Sir,
REPATRIATION TO ENGLAND - MR.W.STTFTT
Mr. W. Stiff, Diesel mechanical engineer employed
by us in qatar is proceeding to England about the end
of October on termination of services.
There are special circumstances in his case which
make us very anxious to facilitate in every way his
return to England. He has been four years away from his
family and extended his original agreement by an addi
tional year under pressure from the Company at a time
when his departure would have caused some dislocation to
our drilling operations in Qatar. His wife’s health has
been a source of anxiety to him and the Company feels in
view of all the circumstances, that he is entitled to’
expectthe Company to make some effort to assist in his
repatriation. It may be added that there is no reason to
doubt that his services will be quickly utilized in
England on important war work.
We shall be very grateful indeed for any action you
can suggest to ensure as far as possible that he will not
be detained in India and conscripted for war work there.
A'
Yours faithfully,
