Kain,
To—Tbe Secretary to the Government of India in the Foreign Department, Simla.
I have sent the following telegram to Tehran and have repeated it to
Meshed.— Begins. Arms traffic, No. 64, dated the 15th June. It is reported
by the Vice-Consul, Seistan, that the men who were sent out to intercept the
arms caravan, caught and killed two Afghan stragglers. He adds that the fact
is certain though it is denied by the Deputy Governor. It is also reported, but
not confirmed, that 20 armed Afghans have re-entered Persian territory for
purposes of revenge.— Ends.
Copy sent informally to Army Department for transmission of Chief of
Staff.
