J am directed by the Marquess of Salisbury
to transmit to you, to be laid before Lord George
Hamilton, the accompanying translation of a note from
the German Ambassador at this Court, requesting
the German Government may be supplied with a list
of the British protectorates and Spheres of Influence
which are excluded from the operation of the Extra
dition Treaty between Great Britain and Germany of
May 5th, 1894.
I am to request that Lord Salisbury may be
furnished with a list of the British Protectorates
and Spheres of Influence under the administration of
of the
India Office
