The ccse was h«ld in the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. > Bahrain,
on the 14th and 16th of August* 1950. Messrs. M* Sulsman
Versl was represented by Mr. H.E. Yates of Messrs. Atkinson,
Ainslie* Childs*Clarke & O’Donovan, Advocates, Dar es Salaam.
Both parties gave a prior agreement in writing to abide un
conditionally by the decision of the arbitrator.
The main case over which the dispute arose was the
question of 28 barrels of ghee shipped to Messrs. Ahmad
Fakhroo & Bros, by s.s. "Tairea". This should have been
paid for by a sight draft which was not however honoured
and .in spite of Messrs. Suleman Versl's instructions to
Messrs. Ahmed Fakhroo & Bros., their Agents, to sell the
consignment wholesale , It was only found possible to
sell a ^s^ll quantity in retail. Ho attempt was made to
account the amount of the goods sold to Messrs. Suleaan Versl.

The situation et the time of the arbitration was that five
barrels have been disposed of in retail by Messrs. Ahmad
F&khroo & Bros, and 23 barrels remained unsold which were
Inspected by Mr. Yates. In spite of two years in store,
the ghee seemed to have retained its quality and was considered
saleable.
2. It was admitted towards the end of the arbitration
by Messrs. Ahmed Fakhroo & Bros, that they had used this ghee
as a surety pending settlement of a previous case of 1200 tins
of Margarine ghee. Agreement was finally reached regarding the
28barrels to the effect that Messrs. Ahmad Fakhroo d Bros,
should account to the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. for the five barrels
already sold deducting his commission therefrom, and arrange
ments should be isade for the sale of the remaining 23 barrels
by Messrs. Dhamamal Zssardas, who would receive h% commission
on the sele.

Arrangement

The majority of the file is arranged into appendices coming under an unspecified part labelled ‘C’. The appendices are numbered with Roman numerals and are ordered II through to VII, followed by I. Appendices are wrapped in larger sheets of paper, which form a header sheet (labelled ‘C’ with the corresponding appendix number) and rear cover sheet.
