Map showing the Turco-Persian frontier from the mouth of the Shatt al Arab at the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. up to Mount Ararat. The Shatt al Arab has been coloured blue, with the frontier marked by a thick red line.
