The file consists of correspondence relating to a trust fund account held with Lloyds Bank Limited (Bombay) and, later, the Eastern Bank Limited for the Financial Adviser to the Government of Bahrain, Charles Dalrymple Belgrave. The majority of the correspondence is between the two banks, Belgrave, the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain, and the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. .

The papers consist of covering letters, receipts, accounts, and letters of acknowledgement connected to regular payments made into the account. Also included is correspondence concerning investment in loans and a discussion over what securities offer better value. The papers suggest that by July 1931 the account was transferred to the Eastern Bank.
