I attach a list of 110 banks used by divers ffrom the
Truclal Coast Sheikhdoms.
A map has been sent in by the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. Agent, Sharjah
showing the exact positions of all these banks. Steps are
being taken to have the map blue-printed, and copies will be
sent to you as soon as they are available.
3. None of the banks named exceed 16 fathoms at their
deepest point, and the average depth may be taken as about
10 fathoms. No information is available regarding deep-sea
oyster beds, as these are inaccessible to the ordinary Arab
