then it is clearly desirable that the Company should 'avoid
any action_which might lead the Sheikh to think we attach
any great importance to the affair, or are in any way
perturbed by the near approach of the expiry date of the
existing arrangements.

(a) to reply formally to the Sheikh in accordance with
the attached draft; Kanoo has this letter and
will forward it if you approve.
