In continuation of my telegram No. T/1161 dated the
11th November.
2. Government of India state Export Trade Controller,
Bombay reports that he has received applications for export of
large quantity of cotton waste to Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Sheikhdoms.
Total quantity applied for amounts to 3853 tons whereas total
exports from Bombay to Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. ports during 1941 1942
amounted to IO 2-4 tons only.
3. Government of India propose to fix quota for export
of cotton waste to Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. Sheikhdoms. Please telegraph
quantity you consider reasonable for local consumption in your
areq.
4. It is clear.from intercepts that much of this
cotton is going to Iraq and not Persia and in this case I see
no reason to assist States to defeat control of Iraq imports.
5. To Bahrain and Kuwait only. If you consider some
allowance should be made for re-exports from Kuwait, Bahrain
and Trucial Coast A name used by Britain from the nineteenth century to 1971 to refer to the present-day United Arab Emirates. for barter purposes, please indicate
minimum quantity so required.
