/ARTICLE 11.
iJlTICLiJ 9. (-) The Co:ipr.ny shixll have the ri^ht to ii'.p-. rt
water, the Jubstances, fuel, rtachinery, notor-cara aiV. lorriea,
aircraft, oquipnent, pl-ant, tinher, utenaxle, iron work, biulCinp
natcrials, feed supplies, r.odipines, nodical supplies,office
equipnent ajid ho usehold furniture, . and other naterials, equipnent
and ipods of whatsover nature required by the C i.ioany .and its employees
for the purpose of its operations hereunder and to export the
Substances and articles previously iriported by the Company free of
custons or export duty and taxes or other charges, but it shall pay
on all personal p- ods, clothing and general i ierchr.ndise inperted by
the Conpany f.r the personal use of its employ Go s or f-r resale to
then the ordinary duty in force f .r the tiuo being in the otito.

its personnel, its operations, inccnc, profits and property including
the Substances shall be exempt and free during the period of this
^grocneiit from all present or future harbour duties, import duties,
expert duties, taxes, imposts and cliorgcs o-f any hind whether St .te
or local, tolls and land surface rent of whatever nature.
In consideration of the right herein grancod the Compaiy shall
jjay in addition to the li .yalty of Rupees Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf. (3) three per ton as provided
in Article 5 - to the Shaikh within (3) three months rater the close
of each calender year the sun of (4) four annas per English ton of
2,240 lbs. in respect of the Substances won and saved during the said
calender year.

but the Company shall not
sell or give alcoholic drinks or liquors t. the gubjocts of the
Shaikh or to the Subjects of adjoining Rulers wh v -y -be o ployed
within the State.
iJiTIGLE 10. The employees of the Company sh-.ll be allowed to
enter into and t > leave the State at all tines without lot or hindrance
and free of all charge, and the Shaikh shall grant to the Company^
employees every facility required i'or the purpose ,:>f the C^pany's
operations hereunder.
But the Company’s employous shall n.t interfere or b v their actions
caui-e any disturbance or cause opositi mi to the djhailch’s authority
with -.n the State of Um-al-Qai\;ain and the enai. .yc^s shall u t go
beyond the limit of thoir duties when employed; within v.m when leaving
the confines of the State of Urm-al-Qaiwain fur the purpose ,>f this

Further in the event of any of the Coipahy’s a.ipi. yees - whether he
be a senior of a junior eiiployee~coT.initting m effence which may cause
disorder or interfere with the moral or religious laws or interfere
with the politics or Subjects of the nt .to of Umm~al-Gaiwain or excite
them to sedition, then the Shaikh may apply to the political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. ,
