Correspondence, chiefly exchanged between the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain (Major Reginald George Evelin William Alban) and the Government of Bahrain (represented by the Adviser to Government, Charles Dalrymple Belgrave) on proposals to establish a school for Indian children in Bahrain. The correspondence covers: the canvassing of members of the Indian community in Bahrain over the numbers of children that might be educated at the new school; statistical data on the Indian population at Bahrain (including breakdown of age range and religion); proposals, with costs, for the provision of a school building and school equipment; questions concerning the system on which the school’s tuition should be based, by whom the school should be inspected, and provision of teachers.
