Lack of shipping space for merchandise from
2. 1 have received complaints from two merchants
who were given quotas for leather goods for ±943 from
India, that they have been unable to ship the goods from
Bombay up to the present owing to lack of shipping space.
3. At the Merchant’s Meeting today it was
confirmed by members present tnat quota goods are lying
unshipped in india, due to the inability of merchants to
find shipping space.
4. I should be grateful if the Government of
India could be moved to give this subject their consider
ation, and if necessary draw up a shipping programme for
Gulf Ports.
