The map shows Kurdistan and the surrounding region, which includes parts of Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. It is marked with the names of Kurdish tribes to record their known locations. It is used to accompany the General Staff, India publication entitled Kurdistan and the Kurds . Regions where the population is predominantly or partially Armenian are indicated.

The map was printed by the Survey of Egypt and includes a printing statement which reads 'Survey of Egypt, Aug. 1919 (0553)'.
