3. His Majesty’s Government of the United Kingdom
agree that the Assistant Trade Commissioner may exercise
his trade functions in relation not only to the Colony
of Aden but also to the Protectorates, provided that the
Government of India will instruct him to maintain close
touch with the British Agents for the Protectorates.
4. I am to request that the Secretary of State may be
informed in due course of the name of the person whom
it is proposed to appoint ^to the poofr.
