Content

Black and white photographs taken at Hillah [Al Ḩillah], Iraq. The upper photograph shows a waterway (probably the Euphrates) with railway line running parallel on the left side, and an open space with tents and two groups of two human figures (two children and two British officers) on the right side. The lower photograph shows a built structure with a barn-like roof, used for storage. A ramp leads up to the barn on the left side of the photograph. A man is walking up the ramp, and carrying a filled sack upon his head. On the right side of the photograph, alongside the barn, is an open area in which filled sacks have been arranged.
