know what use, if any, is at present being made of commercial channels
in India for getting propaganda in Persian and Arabic to Afghanistan
and via Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. to Middle Paste poreign Division of Ministry favour
maximum use of these channels, and would be grateful if, subject to your
general views and those of praser-Tytler, you would discuss with Pratt
of Imperial Chemical Industries (India.), Calcutta (who is deputising for
Cooper, chairman of Calcutta Commercial Committees, now on local leave)
methods of possible co-operation between Government of India and Calcutta
Committee to the desired end* Ministry state that CCMASJI JSHAPGIR
organisation is already being used for propaganda through Indian firms
trading with the Middle East, Regarding other fixms Ministry say that
if Government of India can indicate which firms are trustworthy for this
purpose at Indian end, they will ascertain trustworthiness of the
representatives of those firms in Iran and elsewhere before use is
made of them. Ministry would also like to know quantity of material
that could be handled through such channels* Apart from material
available to you in India, Ministry are able to supply leaflets,
bulletins, postcards., posters, cartoons, "War in Pictures" etcetera*
