I am directed by Secretary Sir E.Grey to acknow
ledge the receipt of your letter of the 31st ultimo,
in which you furnish the observations of the Secre
tary of State for India on the report of the recent
Inter-departmental Committee on the Bagdad Railway
terminus.
In reply, I am to express Sir E. Grey's concur
rence in Mr. Morley's view that the recent acquisition
of the foreshore at Bunder Shweikh, with the right of
priority of lease of the foreshore in the direction
of Ras Kathama, adequately secures the position of
His Majesty's Government if Koweit is finally select
ed as the terminus.
As regards Warba Roads, which lie between the is
lands of Bubiyan and Warba, I am to state that Sir E.
